Hundreds of poker players from Australia and beyond have turned up in Sydney ahead of one of the region's most prestigious tournaments.
The ANZPT Sydney Main Event gets underway today (March 21st) and it is lined up to be one of the biggest and best of all time.
More than 400 players are expected to sign up for the event, with organisers not ruling out the possibility of the total topping 500, reports Poker Network.
In 2012, there were 461 competitors in place and the tournament was eventually won by Gordon Huntly, who secured a $148,900 prize.
Sydney is always one of the favourite stops on the tour for players and spectators alike. In the fifth season of the ANZPT, it could well be time for the biggest event yet.
It is also worth remembering that it is not all about the Main Event in Sydney, as there are also two other high-profile tournaments due to take place.
