June tends to be a quiet one on the Australian poker calendar, as it's the time of year when everyone's eyes turn towards Las Vegas for the annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) events.
But this year those Aussie poker players who can't afford to make the trip to the US will have the option of taking part in the Casino Canberra 2013 Winter Poker Open Championship.
The event will take place between June 8th and June 10th, with players required to come up with a $1,100 buy-in to take part in the tournament.
Last year the event generated a prize pool of $98,000, and it was Daniel Charnock who took first place for a pay day of $26,950.
So if you can't make it to Vegas this year, it might be worth heading to the Australian capital to take a shot at the Winter Poker Open Championship and try to get your hands on the title.
