ANZPT Perth Gets Underway

The side events have kicked off in Perth

Season 5 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) has resumed and it is Perth that is providing the venue for the latest instalment on the calendar.

The side events have kicked off in the city's Crown Casino, where players will be battling it out for the various titles that are up for grabs.

The $2,200 Main Event is set to get underway on February 20th and will last until the 24th, when the curtains will be drawn on the ANZPT before it moves on to Sydney in March.

This is the third instalment of ANZPT Season 5, with the two previous events having been held in Melbourne and Auckland.

It is the fourth time that Perth has hosted the ANZPT, with Tony Hachem having won in 2010 and 2012. Grant Levy was the man who picked up the title in 2011.

With Michael Guzzardi leading the race for the ANZPT Player of the Year, it's likely that he'll turn up at the felt in Perth as he attempts to extend his advantage.
