It took eight days to decide a winner, but Malaysia's Mervin Chan has now emerged as the victor ahead of a field of 629 players in the Aussie Millions Main Event.
Chan picks up $1,600,000 for his exploits at the felt, as well as a Chrysler 300C and a prestigious gold bracelet after holding off the competition in the Crown Melbourne.
Australian poker fans would have been hoping to see a home winner, but they won't be too disappointed with the second place secured by their compatriot Joseph Cabret, who picks up $1,000,000 for his efforts.
Indeed, Cabret did especially well to advance so far in the tournament, with the likes of Phil Ivey and Joe Hachem among the players who had hoped to get their hands on the title.
But it is Chan who goes into the history books as this year's winner, and Aussies will now be awaiting the arrival of the World Series of Poker in April.
