Any Australian poker fans who were concerned that the card-playing world would get off to a slow start in 2013 need not worry, as there is plenty of action coming up in the next two weeks to keep them occupied.
Alongside the Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon event and the impending Aussie Millions proceedings, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) is warming up for its first stop of the year.
That will take place at Cebu in the Philippines, where the Waterfront Hotel & Casino Lahug will host the action.
Anyone who kept track of the APT last year will know that there are always plenty of intense events on the tour, and the race for the 2012 Player of the Year went down to the wire as Sam Razavi pipped Australia's Liam Anderson to the title.
Whatever happens in the Philippines, organisers and players alike are surely determined to get 2013 off to a flying start on the APT.
