Residents of Adelaide who enjoy the odd flutter will be pleased to hear that the SkyCity Entertainment Group has been given the go-ahead for a major redevelopment plan.
The company is expected to spend more than AU$300 million on the project as it sets about introducing cashless gaming technology to the casino in the city.
Once the work is completed, there will be a total of 1,500 electronic gaming machines and 200 table games, while the initiative will also see the construction of Adelaide's first six-star hotel.
With the authorities granting permission for higher maximum bets and bigger jackpots, the casino is sure to become ever more popular as the games it has to offer increase substantially.
According to reports, the agreement safeguard's SkyCity's rights to operate under the new terms until 2035, which means its long-term future has been well-secured by the deal it has struck with the state government.
