The New Year may be here but that doesn't mean we've forgotten about 2012, when plenty of Australian poker players enjoyed successes at the felt around the Asia Pacific region.
To celebrate their achievements, Poker Asia Pacific have complied a list of the Top Ten Players of 2012, and it has announced that Oliver Speidel has earned the number one spot.
Speidel got off to a great start last year when he won the Aussie Millions Main Event in January, and went on to make final tables in events on the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour and the Asian Poker Tour - as well as cashing in with a 13th place finish at the European Poker Tour San Remo.
Despite not being ranked in the Global Poker Index 300, Speidel is not far off breaking into the standings, and he'll be hoping to join his compatriots Jonathan Karamilikis and Jeffrey Rossiter in the mix if he gets off to a good start in 2013.
