Australian poker players may not have lit up the world stage in 2012, but there has been plenty of action taking place domestically - as well as around the Asia Pacific - to make up for it.
And that's why Poker Asia Pacific has included Australia's Mishel Anunu in their list of top ten players of 2012, ranking him ninth following a year in which he made five final tables and bagged two wins.
What's more, with eight cashes to his name, Anunu picked up the Australia New Zealand Player of the Year gong for his efforts at the felt - all factors that mean he rightly deserves to be recognised for his exploits with a spot in the top ten standings.
Indeed, having earned well into the six-figure bracket in 2012, Anunu has bagged enough prize money to set himself up neatly for 2013 - and it's likely he'll be eyeing up the World Series of Poker's first ever visit to Australian shores in April.
