Tommy Vo has been crowned the winner of the Brisbane Poker Championships at the Treasury Hotel and Casino, overcoming some tough competition throughout the course of the event to claim the title.
As Poker Asia Pacific reports, Vo came to the final table with the second shortest stack, but was quickly able to turn things around as he claimed victory and picked up a $49,913 prize for his efforts.
It was Cuong Le who had held the chip lead when the players took their seats at the felt for the final, but he had to settle for second as Vo set about accumulating an impressive stack before eventually dispatching his rival when it came to a one-on-one face-off.
Ant Bertsos, Minh Nguyen and Edwin Grimshaw rounded off the top five respectively, with all of the players who finished inside the top six picking up a five-figure prize sum for the exploits in Brisbane.
