David Steicke is set to compete at the World Poker Tour (WPT) National China Poker Tournament later this month.
The Australian poker ace, who is based on Hong Kong, is one of a number of stars who have confirmed their appearance at the first WPT event to be held in China.
Running between December 14th and 17th, the inaugural event will be held at the luxurious MGM Grand Sanya Resort on Hainan Island.
"WPT National China Poker Tournament: Sanya demonstrates the exploding popularity of WPT National and Regional events," says WPT chief executive Steve Heller.
"This provides players around the world with the opportunity to compete in affordable, world-class poker tournaments."
Jacky Wang, Jay Tan, Raidan Kan and APPT Melbourne champion Sam Razavi will also be competing for a share of the estimated US$650,000 prize pool.
In addition to the main event, a further 12 other events are set to be held during the course of the tournament.
