New Zealand-based poker player Monica Eastick is giving her home fans something to cheer about as she finished Day 1C of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) Auckland Main Event in second place.
Eastick takes a total of 137,000 chips into the second day of the tournament, where competitors from Days 1A and 1B will all meet for a share of the huge NZ$414,000 prize pool, reports Pokernews.com.
As well as Eastick, a host of stars turned up on Day 1C of the event, including World Series of Poker bracelet winner Simon Watt and defending Auckland champion Danny "Brotha D" Leaoasavaii.
Although Eastick caught the eye with a solid day's play, it was Xiao Dong Xi who dominated proceedings as he finished the day as chip leader.
The Chinese star cleaned out Stephen McKay and will be looking to continue his good form on Day 2 of the event against the remaining 76 players.
