Three-way Tie In Early ANZPT POY Standings

Three players are on the same amount of points following the first event of ANZPT Season 5

Season 5 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) may have only just got underway, but the conclusion of the first event in Melbourne means we can take an early look at the standings in the Player of the Year (POY) table.

The top three finishers in the Main Event final decided to split their POY points as part of the chop deal they made, meaning that Ashley Warner, Michael Guzzardi and Paul Hockin are all tied for the first spot in the early POY rankings.

With all three having 69.45 points apiece, it is Michael Lo Giudice who is their closest challenger, as the Aussie earned 59.40 points for his efforts in Melbourne.

He is closely followed by Ismail Ismail on 56.80 points, while Igal Augarten is within touching distance of his rival on 55.50 points.

Obviously there is a long way to go in ANZPT Season 5, but if the early signs are anything to go by then the competitors for the POY title are in for a tight battle over the next year.ADNFCR-16000716-ID-801479166-ADNFCR
