Sydney Champs schedule announced

The schedule for this year's Sydney Champs has been announced and is already underway.

Following on from the success of last year's event, there has once again been a $1650 (approximately £1,115) buy-in for 2012's incarnation.

Highlights include $1100 No Limit Hold'em special, a $550 NLHE Bounty event, $550 NLHE Six-handed, $440 NLHE teams, an exclusive $500 NLHE Late Night event, $5,000 Challenge and $440 Pot Limit Omaha.

Four years have passed since the inaugural event kicked off in spectacular form, comprised as it was of a sizeable field of players (324 poker players fought it out for the main event).

It was eventually won by the Australian sensation Jarred Graham, who secured the top prize of $120,000 (£81,119).

Last year saw history being made in Australian poker as she battled her way to victory against 315 other stars.

In doing so she became one of the few Australian women to win a major Australian title.
