Australian poker pro Dave Allan has won the 2012 Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Snowfest Main Event.
With the action talking place at a packed SkyCity Casino in Queenstown, the Aussie ace beat off stiff competition from a host of top names in order to secure the crown and a winner's cheque for NZ$ 110,600.
Allan held the chip lead after day 1A of the high-profile competition, but lost the lead at the end of day three, only to fight back and claim the victory.
The victory was made all the more impressive by the fact that at the three-handed play stage Allan trailed Ken Demlakian and Jordan Westmorland with 320,000 chips to their 1,360,000 and 1,075,000 each respectively.
Allan's triumph meant that Demlakian had to settle for second place and prize money of NZ$70,400, while Westmorland rounded out the top three and walked away from the felt with a cheque for NZ$41,200.
Ricky Kroesen, David Zhao and Matt Wakeman completed the top six of the tournament's final table.
