Nam Le has won a side event at the APT Macau 2012 tournament

US poker star Nam Le has claimed a side event title at the Asian Poker Tour's (APT) Macau 2012 tournament.

The American claimed first place in the High Rollers Championship and walked away from the felt with HK$841,000.

Nicholas Wong came second and added HK$528,000 to his bank balance, while South Africa's Conrad Coetzer and Tom Hall rounded out the top four.

"It was Le's first APT title win after having come close on a previous occasion at APT Macau in 2009 when he finished second in the High Roller side event," the organisers commented.

"Yesterday it was in a field of 21 players that included Joe Hachem, Oliver Spiedel, Winfred Yu, Conrad Coetzer and Tom Hall."

Aussie star Hachem, who won the World Series of Poker in 2005, is in Macau performing his duties as an APT ambassador as well as to compete in the wide range of events.
