Melbourne's Crown Casino is offering a wide range of new prizes

Poker and casino fans in the Melbourne areas could be tempted to head to the Crown Casino and host of other venues over the coming weeks.

That is after the group announced the launch of a new promotion, which offers gaming fans the chance to share in over half a million dollars worth of prizes.

By entering the Experience Carnivale promotion, gamers could land a cash prize, a new car or even a luxury holiday.

In order to qualify, gamers simply need to spend $20 at selected Crown outlets including Crown Towers, Crown Metropol and the Crown Promenade Hotel.

Players can win a share of some Crown Carnivale Cash, a brand new Alfa Romeo Giulietta or an international holiday to the destination of their choice, organisers of the event explained.

Next year, the Crown casino will play host to the Word Series of poker, which is venturing down under for the first time as part of a new Asia-Pacific tour.
