Shane Warne is through to day three of the WSOP Main Event

Aussie cricket legend Shane Warne is riding high at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.

The sportsman-turned poker pro, who is sponsored by 888, is through to day three of the Main Event and has been keeping his Twitter followers updated every step of the way.

"Won the last hand of the night, day 3 here I come tomorrow ... Ended up on 141,000 in chips. Thanks for riding the rollercoaster with me x," he said.

The 888 team were also quick to congratulate the spin king on his performance, adding: "Team 888poker Captain @warne888 ends Day 2 of the WSOP Main Event with 141,000 chips. The marathon continues - Good Luck tomorrow!"

Warne will be hoping that he can progress through to a cash position in the competition, which has already claimed some big name scalps.

Indeed, Joe Hachem, Australia's only ever WSOP champion, crashed out of the event earlier this week.
