APT announces Jeju event

Jeju, the South Korean island province, will play host to the APT in 2013

Poker pros from Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region will be tempted to head to South Korea next year.

That is after the Asian Poker Tour (APT) announced that the latest addition to the APT Asian Series 2013 will be the South Korean island province of Jeju.

"The Asian Poker Tour is proud to announce a new addition to its 2013 event calendar – the APT Asian Series Jeju," the event's organisers confirmed.

"The APT's first event in Korea will be held at the Royal Palace Casino located at the Oriental Hotel in Jeju. It is scheduled to kick off in the first quarter of 2013 with the exact event dates to be announced."

A host of big names could take part in the event including Aussie poker legend and former World Series of Poker chap ion Joe Hachem.

The card ace now acts as an ambassador for the APT after vowing to cut back on his international exploits in order to spend more time with his friends and family.
