Australian poker ace Brandon Rubie has seen his cash pile rise quite significantly this year.
The card pro has cashed only twice this year, but each time he set a new career record for himself and has earned almost $500,000 in 2012 so far.
Indeed, the player got his year off to a great start at the Aussie Million at the Crown Casino in Melbourne after scooping a cheque for $205,895 in the $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event.
That was the star's biggest career win to date until last week, when he narrowly missed out on a World Series of Poker (WSOP) winner's bracelet.
Rubie came second in the $2,5000 No Limit Hold'em Four Handed event in Las Vegas and walked away from the table $242,458 better off, taking his 2012 earnings to $448, 353.
The cashes are sure to fill Rubie with confidence for the remaining months o f the 2012 poker calendar and the star is sure to be one to watch when the WSOP heads down under for the first time next year.
