Poker fans told: Take up golf

Aussie poker fans have been told to take up golf to improve their game

Playing golf can improve the fortunes of Australia's poker players, it has been claimed.

Notorious mental game coach Jamie Glazier, who has worked with poker stars Joe Hachem and Brendon Rubie, has stated that there are similarities between the games that can help poker players achieve success at the tables.

In an interview with Poker news, the expert explained that are many reasons for poker players to take to the fairways.

"Learning to play golf can enhance a player's mindset for poker, as the basic mindset fundamentals are the same, and the challenging nature of golf will help poker players build their mindset quickly as there can be a lot of resistance," he told the news provider.

"At times, poker is played too much on mathematics and not enough on instincts, especially in a live arena."

The comments come shortly after online specialist Rubie made a successful transition to the live game with a cash placing at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
