Australian poker players may have been among those taking part at a tournament in Casino Grand Lisboa, Macau, earlier this week - one that saw Xiao Yang Cui win the first event in the Macau Poker Cup (MPC).
The Australian took home HKD $127,100 after beating 196 other players in a closely-fought contest, in the largest opening event in the MPC schedule.
Furthermore, according to the Macau Daily Times, 22 players won cash prizes as HKD $518,616 was available in the total pool.
Speaking to the news provider about his success, Cui said: "This is my first time playing a tournament in Macau ... I plan to play all the events this time."
It comes after a report by the Roy Morgan Gambling Monitor revealed that total gambling spend in Australia is continuing to grow, with online poker remaining a success.
However, use of physical poker machines is declining as more people head online.
